ABOUT ME
Samcori is a Singer/Songwriter, Multi-instrumentalist, Audiobook Narrator and Voice Actor. She falls somewhere in the Indie/Alternative genre, writing quirky, romantic, soulful, sexy music for the people of Tacoma. Fan favorites include Tacoma anthems, “Douche Bag”, “Dad Bod”, “Oh, Lucy”, “Douche Bag the Sequel”, and “Golden Given”. She regularly performs at World Famous Bob’s Java Jive, singing karaoke and transforming into Alice in Wonderland for her psychedelic ALICE PARTY shows. She recently headlined for Chicago band North by North at The Valley and opened for T.I. and the Haha Mafia at Nate Jackson’s Super Funny Comedy Club. Her “Douche Bag” was recently chosen for the Autumn 2024 anthology of poetry of, about, or inspired by Tacoma, entitled “Voices of Tacoma: A Gathering of Poets”. Sam loves The Beatles and Gertrude Stein and can rap the entire periodic table of elements in under 40 seconds.
Sam is trained in the Meisner Technique from Bay Area Acting Studio and has narrated over a dozen full-length audiobooks. She studied voiceover at Voice One San Francisco with Bob Bergen, Aliki Theofilopoulous, Marc Graue, Melissa Hutchison, Jim Edgar, and Sally Clawson. Sam holds a B.A. in Theater and Music from The Evergreen State College, where she trained with opera star Cyndia Sieden and directed an award-winning production of The Vagina Monologues, among other theater productions. She has also starred in shows in San Francisco at New Conservatory Theatre Center, PianoFight, Flight Deck and Piedmont Center for the Arts where she performed and co-directed with Metropolitan Opera Director, Jonathan Khuner. Her favorite role of all time is The Baker’s Wife in Into the Woods.
